SUMMER 2015

Congratulations to our 2015 Research Award recipients - The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baylor College of Medicine and The Clearity Foundation. Due to their excellence and the promising results their work has shown in the last year, each of these institutions received a second year of funding.

Using our three-pronged strategy of investing in early detection, improving treatment, and supporting young researchers, SPB again awarded

  • $100,000 to MD Anderson’s Ovarian Moon Shots in support of their innovative ‘Anderson Algorithm,” a surgical approach leading to more successful first line treatment. Learn more here.
  • $25,000 to Dr. Alpa Nick’s Breath-based Biomarker test for early detection. Learn more here.
  • $30,000 to Baylor College of Medicine’s Department of Pathology and Immunology to support graduate student research in early detection under the direction of Dr. Stephanie Pangas. Learn more here.
  • $100,000 to The Clearity Foundation to accelerate their mission of growing their customized tumor “blueprint” database in order to improve the odds for more successful treatment. Learn more here.
